Esta obra pretende difundir la investigación que realizan actualmente grupos de la Universidad de Jaén y otros investigadores colaboradores sobre Biología Molecular y Celular y su aplicación a la Biomedicina. En este volumen se incluyen seis capítulos que tratan temas de gran interés en áreas como el desarrollo cardiovascular y patologías asociadas, el envejecimiento, la detección de polimorfi smos genéticos y enfermedades infecciosas, la neuroendocrinología clínica, la detección del cáncer colorectal y el diagnóstico y predisposición a la insufi ciencia placentaria.

This collection aims to disseminate the research in Molecular and Cellular Biology applied to Biomedicine carried out by groups of the University of Jaén and other collaborating researchers, to be used as reference for students of Biotechnology and Biomedicine. The book comprises six chapters dealing with topics of great interest in such areas as cardiovascular development and associated pathologies, ageing, detection of genetics polymorphism and infectious diseases, clinical neuroendocrinology, colorectal cancer detection and predisposition to placenta insuffi ciency.
